Aldo Nova

Aldo writes and speaks in English, French and Italian. He is a multi-instrumentalist, writer, lyricist, producer, engineer and knows no limitations.

In 1981 Aldo released his first self-titled solo album, which featured all songs written by him, words and music. The album hit the number 8 spot on the Billboard album charts and sold three million units in the USA (Triple Platinum) and two hundred thousand units in Canada (Double Platinum). The album yielded the song "Fantasy", which is considered a rock classic. The futuristic concept video was the second video ever aired on MTV.

In 1983 he released a second solo album called Subject, which was a futuristic concept album. It went Platinum in the USA and Platinum also in Canada. All songs were written by Aldo. The album yielded the single "Monkey On Your Back" and the video was in high rotation on MTV.

He took some time off of his busy touring schedule to co-write the song "Take Me Away" with Eric Bloom for the Blue Öyster Cult's album Revolution By Night. Aldo also co-produced the track with Bruce Fairbairn.

He played guitar, keyboards and sang background vocals on Bon Jovi's first album. It is Aldo – not Richie Sambora – who plays the solo on the song "Runaway".

He was voted top new artist by the readers of Music Express magazine.

He was voted best new talent by the readers of Guitar Player magazine.

In 1985 Aldo did a third record for the Portrait label, but was not happy with the direction the company was sending him in and so he retired as an artist after Twitch. The album still went Gold in both the USA and Canada.

In 1985 Aldo moved back to Canada and started working with an unknown female singer by the name of Céline Dion. He wrote and produced three songs on the album Incognito. The songs "Partout Je Te Vois", "C'est Ça L'amour", and "On Traverse Un Miroir" all became top ten hits in the French markets, giving Céline her first Platinum album.

In 1986 he wrote the words and music to a song called "Don't You Want My Love", which is featured in the movie Ruthless People. The soundtrack album went Double Platinum in the USA. The song became a hit in Europe.

He had famous lyricist Billy Steinberg translate his song "Partout Je Te Vois" and together they wrote a song which changed the life of one female singer. The song now titled "Have A Heart" was produced and mixed by Aldo for Céline Dion for her appearance on the Canadian Grammys, called the Junos. It was this song which got Céline signed to an English recording contract.

Jon Bon Jovi called Aldo for help to produce and arrange the songs for his solo album, the soundtrack to the movie Young Guns 2. After spending two weeks in Bon Jovi's home studio, the pair went to Los Angeles to produce the album with a slew of famous musicians. Aldo arranged, played guitar and keyboards on every song on the album. Every note on the song "Blaze Of Glory" was directed by Aldo.

Bon Jovi returned the favour by signing Aldo to a recording deal on his own Jambco label. The resulting album, Blood On The Bricks was produced by Aldo and Jon and all the songs are co-written by the two. It yielded three singles: "Blood On The Bricks", "Someday" and "Medicine Man".

He produced the song "Levon" for Jon Bon Jovi for the album Two Rooms, celebrating the songs of Elton John and Bernie Taupin. The album went Double Platinum in the USA.

He also wrote and produced for top French artists such as Jonny Halliday, Patrick Bruel, Garou, Roch Voisine and the Québec superstar Eric Lapointe.

He wrote three songs for the Céline Dion album Falling Into You. These songs, "I Love You", "Dreamin' Of You", and "Your Lite" were all written by Aldo and produced by him except for "I Love You", which was produced by David Foster.

Aldo received a Grammy for Producer Of The Year for his work on Céline's Falling Into You.

Aldo's song "I Love You" was then recorded by Faith Hill for her Faith album. The album sold 4 million units in the USA alone.

He co-wrote and co-produced the song "Mr Big Time" with Jon Bon Jovi for the soundtrack to the movie Armageddon. The album sold 8 million units in the USA alone.

Aldo was called in to completely redo the track "Think Twice" for Céline Dion's album The Colour Of My Love. He played all the instruments on it and was only given co-producer credit due to a previous agreement Céline had with Chris Neil. The single sold 2 million copies in the UK alone.

He recorded his fifth album, which was a completely different style than his previous ones, since it is mostly instrumental and features made up languages. It received great critical acclaim and went Gold in Canada.

Aldo, along with Desmond Child and John Reid, wrote for famous Irish tenor Ronan Tynan. Together they composed three songs for his album.

He co-produced and co-wrote four songs for the famous Chilean rock band La Ley. His song "Aqui" was nominated for a Latin Grammy for song of the year.

He wrote and produced the hit single "A New Day Has Come" for Céline Dion's comeback record. The song went to number 1 in 24 countries and the album sold 10 million units. Aldo had one more song on the album, a song called "Ten Days". "A New Day Has Come" appears twice on the album: once in a 6/8 version and again in the remix version.

Aldo co-wrote the hit single "This Is The Night" for American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken. The song went straight to number 1 on the Billboard charts the first week and was the biggest selling single that year.

Aldo wrote and produced the single "You And I Were Meant To Fly" for Céline's Live In Las Vegas record. The song was the most added song in North America in the first week that it was out. The song was then picked up by Air Canada as their theme song. The song was then picked by the American people to be the theme song for Hilary Clinton's US Senate campaign.

He had two tracks on clay Aiken's A Thousand Different Ways album, including the song "A Thousand Days".

Aldo wrote the words and music and produced the track "My Heart Belongs To You" for famous Australian diva Hayley Westerna. The song was a worldwide success.

Aldo had five songs on Céline Dion's album Taking Chances: "A Song For You", "Can't Fight The Feeling" (which he co-produced with John Shanks), "Shadow Of Love", "The Reason I Go On", and "Fade Away". The album sold 4.5 million units worldwide.

He is now working on a comeback album, a rock opera called The Life And Times Of Eddie Gage. It has sixteen songs on it, all diverse in style, and features Aldo at his peak, with a powerful voice, great guitar work and great songs.

He is a prolific writer and an extremely hard worker.

The best is yet to come.
